In : playstation 3, playstation console, playstation game, Posted by admin on Feb.02, 2010
The most noticeable difference in the Harry Potter PSP version is that Hogwarts school are designed in a mix of 2D and 3D elements. This means that the environment are mostly 2D but has a little bit of 3D features. When you walk pass the gates, there will be a loading time of 2 – 4 seconds. This presents a problem to the gamer because a large amount of searching and walking is required in the game.
You will play as Harry and your mission is to find the different items that are hidden in the castle. You can find the items by speaking to the people. When you ask them, they will inform you they’ve seen the item hidden in the particular curtain of the castle. After you have finished talking with them, you will be know how to find your way to the room to retrieve the item. Despite that, the items are mostly possessed by the schoolmates. Thus, in order to obtain the items, you must trade some of your items with them. The items that you can trade with them include chess pieces or plants. You can find the trade items by pressing the select button on your controller. When the select button is pressed, the navigation arrow to the item will display on the screen. Sometimes, you will need a rare item for trading which don’t shows the navigation arrows. Therefore, you will have to search for the whole castle for the item before you are allowed to progress in the story. This is the disadvantage with the 2D version.
Once you have found the item, you can move on to the next stage. The game has other disadvantages including the voice are not recorded by the actors, and the low quality mini games.
As a conclusion, the game is poorly designed and not adventurous at all. In addition, the graphics and gameplay arriving with this playstation game are well below the expectation.
